Adrian, MI – Adrian College NCAA Ice Hockey teams posted a combined record of 3-0 this weekend to start NCHA Conference play.

On Friday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Men’s team played their first NCHA conference game of the season, shutting out the Milwaukee School of Engineering 6-0. It was a pretty even scoring attack, with the Bulldogs getting goals from Rex Moe, Connor May, Sam Ruffin (2), Jaden Shields, and Andrew Bellant. Cameron Gray saved all 22 Raiders shots he faced, earning his second straight shutout.

On Saturday, in Adrian, the Women’s team took down a familiar opponent this season, Trine University, blanking the Thunder 5-0. Leading the way in scoring for the Bulldogs was Une Bjelland, netting two goals. Karmen Anderson had a team-high three assists on the night. In net for Adrian College was Mia Glassco, who earned the shutout, making all 24 required saves. Adrian is now 8-0 on the season, and 1-0 in conference play. They have a home-and-home with Aurora University this weekend.

The Men’s team would lace them up again against MSOE on Saturday, but there was not as much offense as in the first game of the weekend. Through the first 20 minutes of play the Bulldogs found themselves down 1-0 to the Raiders. Adrian would tie the game 1:58 into the second period with a goal from Grant Baetsen, with an assist from Nick Lund. There would not be another goal until the final minute of regulation. A quick shot by Jaden Shields was deflected in front by Rex Moe, and went past the MSOE net-minder with 30 seconds left. AC would hold on for the 2-1 win. The Bulldogs are now (7-5-0, 2-0 NCHA) and will play host to Marian (Wisconsin) this weekend.
