Adrian, MI – Things did not go as planned for both Siena Heights University and Adrian College basketball programs over the weekend, going winless.

On Saturday, the Adrian College Bulldogs men’s team dropped their contest at home vs Trine 59-49. AC shot 45.2% from the floor compared to Trine’s 39.6%, but committed 29 turnovers in the loss. Connor Pelham scored 18 to lead all Bulldog scorers. Adrian College is now 1-9 on the season.

The AC Women’s team (3-6) also lost to Trine, on the road 61-44. TU had an impressive second quarter, outscoring the Dawgs 24-7. Chelsea Palmer was the leading scored for AC, collecting 13 points.

For the Siena Heights University Saints, two double-headers were scheduled, but only three of the four games were played. Unfortunately, the teams went a combined 0-3. The men played two road WHAC Conference games, the first at Concordia (MI) and the other at Indiana Tech. The Saints lost the first game 81-66 and the second game 82-62. Bryce Armstrong scored 17 points, topping the scoring for SHU in game one. Kevin Rice was the leading point-getter in the second game, scoring 28. They are now 0-4 in the 2021 season.

The SHU Women’s team had one scheduled game this weekend, after their contest with Concordia was canceled. The Saints took on #11 Indiana Tech Sunday, and lost a highly-contested game 76-72. The Warriors were the preseason selection by the WHAC coaches to win the conference this season… with the Saints projected to finish second. Blissfield native Kelsey Wyman lead SHU with 20 points in the losing effort. Siena Heights is now 4-2 overall, 1-1 in the WHAC.
