Inside The Cave is coming out with their Mock Draft 1.0 for the 2020 NFL Draft. John Roberts and Ian Wendt debuted their picks Wednesday morning.

Here’s Ian’s Mock Draft 1.0

  • BengalsJoe Burrow QB LSU – The Ohio native has played against high caliber defenders in the SEC. Cincinnati can’t go wrong with picking Burrow #1.
  • RedskinsTua Tagovailoa QB Alabama – With new Coach Ron Rivera, the team needs a new identity at quarterback. Shades of RG3 in Washington…but this will work out much better.
  • LionsChase Young DE Ohio State. With Tua and Burrow off the board, the Lions can draft possibly the best overall player in the draft.
  • Giants – New York has their QB with Daniel Jones and their running back Saquon Barkley… so the Giants either go defensive or offensive line with their first pick. In my mock draft, they take Clemson LB Isaiah Simmons. Some have rated him the number one linebacker in the draft.
  • Dolphins – The top two QB’s are off the board by the time Miami gets to pick. Failed trades with Cincinnati and Washington leave the Dolphins “stuck” with the #5 pick. The Chargers might be looking at a quarterback with the #6 pick, so Miami either takes Justin Herbert out of Oregon, or trades with the Jaguars..who are maybe looking for a QB at #9. Dolphins ultimately trade down with the Jags, and get picks #9 and #20. Jaguars then draft Justin Herbert.
  • Chargers – The top three QB’s are gone, and with Tyrod Taylor their guy for now, the Chargers have almost a full plate of options at #6. LA takes Jeff Okudah, the cornerback from Ohio State. They need a talent like Okudah with Mahomes slinging the rock all over the AFC West for the next ten years.
  • Panthers – In a rebuild mode and a new coach, Carolina wants to build up their defense and takes the best d-lineman in the draft, Auburn’s Derrick Brown.
  • Cardinals – This might be the the point where offensive lineman start to fly off the board. Arizona has weapons with Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins on the offensive end. They NEED an offensive lineman here; and take Alabama’s Jedrick Wills Jr
  • Jaguars – *Now Miami after trade* – The Dolphins have A TON of draft capital and they don’t have to reach or take a chance on a QB at #9. They take an offensive weapon in wide receiver Jerry Jeudy from Alabama.
  • Browns – I think Cleveland is one piece away from being a real contender in the AFC in 2020. That piece is an offensive lineman (and a coach…we’ll see how Kevin Stephanski works out). The Browns waste no time in drafting Tristan Wirfs from Iowa.
  • Jets – New York needs another weapon for Darnold and Bell, so they get the dynamic Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.
  • Raiders – The Raiders did not win the Tom Brady sweepstakes, and they could not trade up to take a top-tier QB. Instead, they get a great developmental quarterback in Jordan Love from Utah State.
  • 49ers – *originally from Colts* – What a great spot to be in… Super Bowl runner-up and a top 15 pick. San Francisco must replace Emmanuel Sanders at wide receiver, so they take Henry Ruggs III from Alabama.
  • Buccaneers – PROTECT TOM BRADY. Tampa does that in drafting an offensive lineman. Mekhi Becton from Louisville will do the trick at 6’7” 364lbs.
  • Broncos – I see Denver looking at offensive line or wide receiver here. Both positions have depth in this year’s draft, so they go receiver and take Denzel Mims from Baylor.
  • Falcons – Atlanta was awful at pass defense last year, so they take the second rated corner in the draft, Florida’s CJ Henderson.
  • Cowboys – Where does Dallas go here? Do they draft competition for Dak… or his potential replacement at quarterback? Offensive line? In my Mock Draft, they try to trade up to take a top lineman, but no team budges. Cowboys go defense and draft Javon Kinlaw, defensive lineman from South Carolina.
  • Dolphins *originally from Steelers* – Miami takes talent in this spot, and goes with K’Lavon Chaisson, defensive end from LSU.
  • Raiders *originally from Bears* – Las Vegas got their QB, now they go defense and get a quality corner in Jeff Cladney from TCU.
  • Jaguars *originally from Rams* – The trade with Jacksonville gives Miami this pick. Corners are flying off the board, so the Dolphins join in on the fun and drafts LSU corner Kristian Fulton.
  • Eagles – Philly desperately needs help at wideout, so they go and get a stud… also from LSU… Justin Jefferson.
  • Vikings *originally from Bills* – Minnesota needs another WR to compliment Adam Theelan… and they get Jalen Reagor from TCU.
  • Patriots – New England has a good defense, but Belichick goes defense here and takes a talent in A.J Espenesa, defensive end from Iowa.
  • Saints – New Orleans will build on their defense and draft Patrick Queen, linebacker from LSU.
  • Vikings – Minnesota goes defense and gets Penn St. edge rusher Yetur Gross-Matos.
  • Dolphins *originally from Texans* – With Miami’s third pick in this round, the Dolphins go defense and draft Xavier McKinney from Alabama.
  • Seahawks – Seattle drafts youth on their defense to compliment Jadeveon Clowney. The Hawks take Zack Baun, linebacker from Wisconsin.
  • Ravens – Baltimore bolsters that awesome running game and takes Michigan center Cesar Ruiz.
  • Titans – Tennessee lost Jack Conklin in free agency, so they go lineman here and take Josh Jones from Houston.
  • Packers – Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers need another offensive weapon and take a receiver here. They draft Brandon Aiyuk from Arizona State University.
  • 49ers – San Fran looking for defensive help on the back end as it ages, so they draft Trevon Diggs from Alabama.
  • Chiefs – The Super Bowl Champs need no help on the perimeter, so they either go offensive or defensive line here. They get defensive lineman Jordan Elliott from Missouri.

Bonus Pick (Detroit’s pick at 35)

Lions – A great pick for Detroit in this spot is running back Johnathan Taylor from Wisconsin.

  • GiantsTristan Wirfs OL Iowa

  • Chargers Justin Herbert QB Oregon
  • CarolinaDerrick Brown DT Auburn
  • Cardinals Jedrick Wills OL Alabama
  • Jaguars – Jacksonville trades this pick to the Los Vegas Raiders for the #12 and #19 picks. Los Vegas takes arguably the best wide receiver in the draft by taking Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy.
  • Browns – Cleveland can’t pass up on the talent available here and drafts linebacker Isaiah Simmons out of Clemson.
  • Jets – New York gets offered a good deal from San Francisco to move up two spots, so they take the trade. The 49ers go wide receiver in this spot and take CeeDee Lamb from Oklahoma.
  • Raiders – Los Vegas traded this pick to move into the top 10, so Jacksonville is in this spot. Jags take a quality corner in CJ Henderson from Florida.
  • 49ers – Now the Jets pick. New York also goes receiver and takes Henry Ruggs from Alabama.
  • Buccaneers – Tampa must protect and aging Tom Brady. They draft Mekhi Becton, offensive lineman from Louisville.
  • Broncos – Denver goes offensive lineman as well and takes Andrew Thomas from Georgia.
  • Falcons – Atlanta needs help on the back end of their defense. Alabama safety Xavier McKinney should do the trick.
  • CowboysKristian Fulton, a cornerback from LSU fills a need from Dallas.
  • Dolphins – Miami gets offensive line help for Tua and drafts Josh Jones from Houston here.
  • Raiders – Los Vegas traded this pick to Los Angeles. The Chargers take Trevon Diggs from Alabama.
  • Jaguars – The Chargers now have this pick from Los Vegas. Raiders pick up Javon Kinlaw, defensive lineman from South Carolina.
  • Eagles – Philly needs receiver help, so they are happy to draft LSU’s Justin Jefferson.
  • Vikings – Minnesota fills a need here and takes Clemson corner A.J. Terrell.
  • Patriots – New England goes defense and picks up Kenneth Murray from Oklahoma.
  • Saints – New Orleans gets help in their secondary by taking LSU’s Grant Delpit.
  • Vikings – With their second pick this round, Minnesota drafts Iowa defensive end A.J. Espenesa.
  • Dolphins – Detroit got this pick from Miami earlier, and the Lions actually trade it away to Baltimore. The Ravens give Detroit later draft picks or a player so they can draft Wisconsin linebacker Zach Baun.
  • Seahawks – Seattle goes defense and takes Penn State defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos.
  • Baltimore – Detroit just acquired this pick from Baltimore moments ago. Detroit selects a player here. The top rated running back in the draft, Wisconsin’s Johnathan Taylor.
  • Titans – Titans take TCU defensive lineman Ross Blacklock.
  • Packers – Green Bay surprises many by drafting Aaron Rodger’s heir apparent… Utah State’s Jordan Love.
  • 49ers – San Francisco gets defensive lineman depth by picking Neville Gallimore from Oklahoma.
  • Chiefs – The defending Super Bowl Champions go defense to finish the first round and draft TCU corner Jeff Gladney.
