After the Patriot’s exit from the 2019-20 NFL Playoffs at the hands of the Tennessee Titans, all eyes are on New England’s 42 year old quarterback Tom Brady. He will be a free agent this off-season, and just about every sports analyst in American is talking about where he might be in the fall of 2020.

Our on-air personalities ‘Inside the Cave’ have their opinions as well. On Monday’s show, I named a team that not many…if any… are talking about. I think that if Brady is not a Patriot next year, then he will be an Indianapolis Colt.

Indy started strong in 2019 after the surprise retirement of Andrew Luck before the regular season started. The Colts had a serviceable backup; former Patriot backup Jacoby Brissett. The team found its rhythm early in the season, compiling a 5-2 record. The magic faded as the Colts missed the playoffs with a 7-9 mark, good for 3rd place in the AFC South behind Houston and Tennessee.

Adding Tom Brady to a talented core in Indianapolis could be what the team needs to get into the playoffs. When Luck was on the roster, they were a sleeper Super Bowl contender. Brady could end his Hall of Fame career by throwing passes to T.Y. Hilton and Eric Ebron, which would be a significant improvement over what he has in New England with an aging Julian Edelman and………………..? The Colt’s offense was decent with Brissett, but could jump to great with Brady under center.

New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady

Brissett would not be relegated to a backup role in Indianapolis is he doesn’t want to, because I could see a return to New England for Jacoby.

A move to the Colts could work out for Brady, Belichick, and Indy. Brady’s addition to the Colt’s offense would jump-start the group, which already has a decent rushing attack. Patriots coach Bill Belickek would have Jacoby Brissett back under his wing in New England. Also, both Brady and Bill would have a chance to prove their worth individually.

Since sports analysts like to do things in threes, here are Ian’s top landing spots for Tom Brady (if New England does not work out):

Number 1 is Indy, for the reasons mentioned above. My second-best option is the Los

Chargers Quarterback Phillip Rivers

Angeles Chargers because Phillip Rivers seems to be on his last leg and the team needs to fill their new stadium. The third team, which may seem odd for some, is Cleveland. Ownership has already moved on from their coach and GM, so maybe it’s time to move on from Baker Mayfield.
